The rain has stopped
And yellow sodium street light reflects
I see the brick pavement water soaked mirror
The path to Oz
The jagged curve of a yellow brick road
I'm not in Kansas

Holding together the pieces of my pottery mind
I skim stones across the pool of dreams
And watch shapes and photons
That fire neuron waves
Cascading associations
Oil on water
Greek fire
I am Icarus on the wing
Yellow light
Fall into the waves
The particles in flight
The sunlight and starlight
Like Andromeda tied to the rock
I fear the Kraken
Monsters from the deep
Yet I will not be the prisoner of my fears
For years the starlight has journeyed
It danced into eyes and brain
Across the dark
And now I remain a friend of Andromeda.
